Isobutydine diurea (IBDU)
In the early 1950s, foreign scholars discovered the Isobutydine diurea has the function of slow release of the nitrogen, thus
it has been widely used in garden and lawn. Besides, it can be used as the forage additive. Isobutydine diurea is the production
of isobutyraldehyde and urea, its molecular formula is (CH3)2CHCH(NHCONH2)
Its release of nitrogen is mainly produced as a result of chemistry hydrolysis, which is different from the Urea Formaldehyde
which depends on the microorganism's decomposition and destructive effect, or the Sulfur Coated Urea which depends on the
solution's diffusion. IBDU is very sensitive to moisture due to its chemical hydrolysis, so the nitrogen's release speed can be
controlled by the water content level. Temperature has little effect on the IBDU's hydrolysis action, which makes it more effective
in the low temperature comparing to other fertilizers which is controlled biological effect by temperature or release of nitrogen by
diffusion. It is blended with other fertilizers so as to be used for lawn and winter crop. And the distinguishing features of IBDU are
the performance in the low temperature and releasing speed being controlled by the water content.
IBDU is used as the forage additive, in place of protein forage, so as to make the ruminants increase their weight and milk.
